Project La Défense.
One-of-its kind, this penthouse apartment is located on the 45th floor of the highest residential tower in Europe, on a small hill in the business district of La Défense. The view over the entire city of Paris is breathtaking, visible through all the large windows surrounding this corner unit.
Previously owned by an interior designer who left a very strong 80’s vibe (XXL aquarium as centrepiece in the reception, recessed LED lighting everywhere with changing colours, plexiglass, dark and honey woodworks…). Our clients saw the potential of the place but wished to clear it and start fresh. The challenge was to make opposing tastes meet: one meticulously minimalist, the other adept of French history and religious treasures and who had accumulated vast quantities of artefacts over time.
We stripped the apartment of all its existing wall and floor coverings, aquarium, lighting, reviewed the drop-down ceilings and platforms, tore down the bathrooms. Only the state-of-the-art open kitchen remained.
The new apartment is now minimalist, centred around one focal point: a custom-made shelving system which serves as a gallery-wall for all the ancient books and artefacts gathered together, visible from everywhere.
Warm hues, Scandinavian furniture, parquet and carpet in the bedrooms area all contribute to a very cosy effect in contrast with the waxed concrete of the dining/kitchen area. A beautiful functional master bathroom was created, with bathtub and shower, with an open view onto the bedroom and the extending view. So the owners can see all of Paris including the Eiffel Tower even while bathing.

“We called upon Yasmine and Bernard for the full refurbishment of our apartment. The result has vastly exceeded our expectations: rationalizing space, choosing materials and furniture in perfect adequacy with our tastes, requirement, and budget constraints. They also managed the tour-de-force of matching to perfection the vintage and the modern: we love it! Finally, we are ever so grateful for their great responsiveness, their capacity to deal with the constraints and delays of the works, removing from us all the related stress. In summary: a very remarkable professionalism paired with a capacity to listen and indefectible kindness. An immense thank you! ”
